dotdigital Group PLC
dotdigital Group Plc, the parent company of dotdigital, was about to release the latest company annual report. To closer align the Group Plc website with the recently rebranded product marketing website, the new brand identity of dotdigital would need to be applied to the outdated Plc website. This project was an incredibly short turnaround of just ten working days however it was essential to bring the branding up to date in time for the annual report launch so our bid for future business investment could be as strong as possible.

Our challenge
Update the dotdigital Group Plc website inline with the new dotdigital brand guidelines. The website required updates to the UI colour themes, fonts and illustrations as well as interactive elements such as the navigation, in page menus and buttons.
Design process
A third party had previously designed the existing Plc website which meant we no longer had access to the original design files. This meant that I would need to recreate the website UI from scratch within Adobe XD before I could apply the new brand guidelines. In total, I created 18 art-boards to communicate the new styling to our developers. I had previously created a master design system document, so I was able to use this to apply colour treatments and update the website fonts to match those used on the product marketing site.
In addition to updating the core website UI elements, we took this opportunity to update the illustrations and imagery throughout the website. We updated in page hero branding, and I created a new homepage hero that displayed a digital and futuristic illustration in our brand colours. This abstract approach to the hero was to differentiate the homepage hero content on dotdigitalgroup.com to that shown on dotdigital.com. In addition to static image changes, I created an animated product gift to show a selection of platform imagery within a small area of the homepage. Overall this project ran very smoothly and given the short timescale it dramatically improved the overall look and feel of the website and was noticed throughout the business.
